CA Weekends

We LOVE weekends! Mondays through Fridays, Grace wakes up and asks for Daddy and I have to tell her he's at work. But on Saturdays...she knows it's Saturday and that means Daddy doesn't have to go to work! We start off our weekends with a family pancake breakfast and then usually stay in our pajamas as long as possible. Some days we have special outings. We treasure this time together as a family, knowing that as our children grow, it may become harder and harder to have lazy family days together and that some day, they may not even want to hang out with us on a weekend :o(.

Pancake Breakfast...

I couldn't get over Grace's pose here - seems very "Victorian" to me

Pajama Party...

Remember a similar picture of Daddy and Grace?

One day I hit up some garage sales and got Grace some new clothes. She insisted on trying them all on at once...

Back in February, I think, we took the girls on a hike in the Palisades area. It was a nice short hike and Grace walked for most of it. The views of the ocean were spectacular, but Zane's favorite part was when Grace had a poopy accident along the trail, at one of the steepest parts, and he had to change her!

A well-earned lunch

Another Saturday, we had a picnic at the beach with a family from our community group.

Trying to keep her from getting totally naked. Even if it's Santa Monica!

Often, we just go for walks around town. The girls love their "stroller ride."

Thanks for the Google blankie, Uncle Will!

Sometimes we jog to the park and Grace helps Daddy work out.

We found a duck couple on our street. Apparently, they come for a visit every spring!

Even though we have a very casual church, I still enjoy dressing the girls up!

That was my dress when I was a baby!

Lucy and I have fun in the baby room when she isn't napping in the Ergo through the service

Rankin's sermon was particularly riveting this Sunday!

What we love even more than a weekend together as a family is a weekend with family from out of town! We are looking forward to Gigi and Pop visiting this weekend and Nonni in two weeks!
