the answer to an age-old question...

For decades, people have been asking, "Can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street?" At long last, the answer is here:

If you are coming from LAX, take Sepulveda North to Culver City. Turn right on ______ then left on ________ then right on ______. If you are on a beautiful, tree-lined street that looks like it's out of a movie and hear shrieks or delight from little voices then you've hit the right spot.

Seriously, though, I am going to start calling our street Sesame Street! It sure felt like that yesterday!

Around 11:00, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and a cat and a giraffe walked down the street to a little pre-schoolers' Halloween party in one of our neighbors' backyards.

They met Spiderman...

Something about being in costumes made the children eager to pose for pictures!

Every princess needs a swing, right?

The cutest turtle I've ever seen was busy at the grill.

For his hard work, he finally got one of those awesome things he'd been watching his brother and the other big kids drinking for months...

My super creative neighbor made "mummy hotdogs," "eyeballs" (grapes)and dirt and worms for the kids, and grown ups :o).

a little giraffe got covered in "dirt"

We made some friendly monster puppets.

What could be better than a national day for playing dress-up?!?

After much needed naps and a last minute run to the grocery store to make sure we had at least 15 lbs of candy, it was time to trick-or-treat!

Yes, she was cotton candy! And she gave all of her little friends tubs of pink cotton candy...

This little giraffe is loving her new-found freedom as a walker!

"Hello Mr. Lion, how was your day?" asked the Giraffe.

Delighted with their treasures!

This mom wins the super Halloween mom award. She surprised her son by dressing up with him.

We spent the rest of the night eating chili and s'mores with friends from our community group and neighbors around a driveway fire pit. And, of course, handing out every piece of the 500 some pieces of candy we had bought!

Oh and I forgot to mention that the past couple of evenings another wonderful neighbor family hosted outdoor movie nights for their kids to watch the Charlie Brown Halloween movie curled up on blankets and pillows in front of a huge sheet screen.(Forgot to get a picture of that cuteness!)

One more thing...if you'd like to compare Lucy as a giraffe to Grace, check out this post from 2 years ago.
