Lucy Meets Nonni & Poppi

Yes, this was over a month ago...but better late than never!

We had a wonderful visit with Steve & Vickie at the beginning of November. We explored some new parts of L.A., celebrated Steve's birthday and just enjoyed their company. Vickie was constantly helping clean up or cook so I really got a break. Zane and I got to go on two dates and I even got to steal away to Starbucks for an hour or so all by myself. We were spoiled! We know it's a long flight (and tickets aren't cheap) and SO appreciate that they would come and see us.

I have over 100 pictures to post to be caught up from this past month so this will be quick and the pictures much "rougher" than usual. But...such is life with 2 little ones!

Part 1: Nonni & Poppi arrive!

Part 2: A Drive Out to Malibu

We found this beautiful park across the street from Pepperdine.

Grace is lucky to have a grandmother who won't hesitate to go down the slide with her!

Often, when Grace talks, she sticks up her index finger and cocks her head. She has very important things to say.
Grace really came alive when she got to get out of the car and run around! It was a beautiful cool, breezy evening and we found a trail to a great overlook. Little Miss Independent ran off ahead of us.

Gorgeous, right?!

Like I said, Grace came alive outside!

I'm pretty sure she couldn't be smiling any bigger. Check out the dimples! That's my girl!

We all soak up her love of life. This night, Daddy got an extra dose!

I am blessed!

(P.S. Lucy was in the ergo on me, sound asleep - no, we did not forget her!)

Part 3: Poppi's Birthday

Grace got really into Poppi's birthday and turned it into his birthday week. She finally understand birthdays and especially loves "Happy Birthday Cake." Every day that week, she'd say "Happy Birthday Poppi!" Now, often as we are walking, she will ask me to sing "Happy to you" (her name for the Happy Birthday song) to people, trees, animals, basically anything!

We got Poppi a hat to match Grace's

Lucy tried Grace's hat on - she kind of reminds us of Fievel in An American Tale in this picture.

More tales of our adventures with Nonni & Poppi coming soon...
