The Rest of Our Time with Nonni & Poppi This November

Part 4: Griffith Park

Griffith Park is a huge park here in L.A. There's a great view of downtown and the Hollywood sign from up by the Observatory and a fun park for kids to play. The girls and I took Nonni & Poppi there one day while Zane was at work.

Part 5: Smiling School

Lucy really started becoming alert while they were here. We had only seen a few smiles before this visit but thanks to Nonni's smiling school, Lucy really found her big, bright-eyed, cheeky smile!

Part 6: Lunch with Daddy, Finger Painting and Just Plain Cuteness

We met Daddy for lunch at the swanky Century City Mall.

Don't they look like they fit right in?

Grace and Poppi did some finger painting!

And this is the cuteness I was talking about...

Part 7: Marina del Rey

One morning, we went to Marina del Rey to play at the park and eat lunch. Grace was in hog heaven! You should have seen how messy she got. She dumped an entire bucket of water on herself, really cold water, and didn't even flinch. At one point she was down to her diaper!

Ah, yes, we do live in a beautiful place!

Part 8: Grace & Lucy's Baptisms

It was really special that Nonni & Poppi could be here for the girls' baptisms! Special thanks to Meemaw for their matching white dresses and silver sweaters! Our pastor, Rankin Wilbourne, baptized the girls. It was neat that he had known Zane from before I was even in the picture and now was baptizing his daughters. We are continually reminded of what a blessing it is to be a part of this church, Pacific Crossroads.

Lucy's baptism was pretty nondescript. Grace on the other hand... Well, we heard later that that was probably loudest baptism Rankin had performed yet. Grace got stage fright and although for weeks she had been talking about "baptize Grace" and "Mr. Rankin holding" and "water hair," she freaked out a little. She was very tired and I think she thought that we were handing her off or something. Rankin was nice and said "Isn't this a great picture of how we often come to the Lord kicking and screaming?" :o) Ah, that's our precocious little one!

Thanks, Vickie, for getting these pictures. And Steve got a great video of the whole thing.
