4th

We started the 4th at "the farm." Grace did Daddy's hair :o)

Then she picked some apples from one of the apple trees and tried to feed the cows and horses out in the pasture. But they wouldn't come, despite her mooing and neighing at them.

Then she showed me the baby birds that had hatched.

Then it was back to Chattanooga...

...for Lucy's first haircut! (Lucy will always be able to say there is one thing she did before Grace! We've never cut Grace's hair but Lucy had a bunch of scraggly hairs that were her original baby hairs that had never fallen out.)

Steve and Vickie's friends, Ray and Jane DeBarge, came for dinner. We had these AMAZING ribs that literally fell off the bones and Jane brought a chocolate cake that is just to die for!

The boys (all 5 of them, including Zane, Cole and Dave) bought a bunch of fireworks, poppers and sparklers and put on quite a show. Bottle rockets are legal in TN!

Grace found a way to get the trumpet looking part of this sculpture off and decided to play it. 

Then she turned it around and made it into a microphone and put on quite the show for us.

That's the classic Shirley Temple face!

 Fireworks! Grace and Lucy didn't make it that late, unfortunately. But they've really needed the sleep!
